End of Tour

August 3rd 2009 in La vie qui coule, Photos

French versionThe tour of LA VIE QUI COULE has just ended. We (Tien Vuong NGUYEN and yours truly) have played in 8 cities in France (Ambert, Brioude, Aurillac, Figeac, Cahors, Rocamadour, Sarlat and Terrasson) from 15 to 27 July. We have presented our sketches and our respective duet created in March. A big thank to the public for his kindness, his attention and generosity.

It hasn’t always been easy but we stayed the course. First there was the weather wasn’t really on our side. The storms were accompanied by Brioude to Aurillac. We had to play in Saint-Flour and Murat but the streets were deserted. Fortunately, then, it has been the happiness and warmth.

For we must say that LA VIE QUI COULE is a street show. We invest a place, a street and we play. We ask the permission to mayors, municipal police, bar, restaurant… and with their agreement we play. For example, the Municipal Police of Brioude has not allowed to play in the streets. So we played in the tearoom “The Mirandela”. I recommend them. They are very hospitable and offer delights! In Figeac, Director of the Office of the Mayor received me in his office but couldn’t issue me a permit. So we played in restaurants.

Here, cycling Tien has burst. We took four hours to change the tire! Not that we do not “bricolos”… but the tires of his bike are really special! Then the battery in the camper, we are tired of waiting to record the soul. Fortunately I left my bike to find a garage. In less than an hour we solved this little problem.

And Cahors has opened his arms. A special thank you to Food & Beverage allowing us to play in his garden. They are so loved our mimes, they have invited us to play three times in succession. Thank you to them.

At Rocamadour, on the advice of Alain, I welcome the move (a clown - musician fellow Indian income but expects to return) we played in the street without permission. Because with the exception of a restorer had not agreed to receive. And everything went very well. That has led to booming Sarlat festival theater where we truly understood the business of street artist. Because originally we’re still artists scene. Marcel MARCEAU has taught us the art of scene indoors and outdoors. But the game of the street is really different… and I’d rather tell you if it isn’t simple.

We ended up with Terrasson we received brilliantly well with a promotional organization more effective. A big thank you to Marité SCHMITT and the staff at the Tourist Office who have done a good job prior to our arrival.

Press Terrasson spoke of our tour. We also had the joy of a show in the studios of Radio Pays d’Aurillac. A big thank you to Bernard and, especially Jacqueline (who made his baptism and that radio has very good output) to be interviewed. To listen to the show, it’s here.

Here is a slideshow to put this story in pictures:

Until the next tour…
